10 Best Instagram Spots in Jaipur

Jaipur, known as the pink city, is a spectacularly beautiful city full of painted colorful buildings that have been well preserved, maintained, and restored over the hundreds of years since they were originally built. Unlike many other places we visited in India that had clearly once been grand and elegant, Jaipur still feels like a royal city. If you’re headed to Jaipur, you’re most likely looking for great photography spots here, so without further ado, I give you our guide to the best Instagram spots in Jaipur.

1. Hawa Mahal

Also known as the Wind Palace, the Hawa Mahal is one of the most beautiful sights you can see in Jaipur. Painted a vibrant pink color, and well maintained, it’s a striking sight to see the combination of color and funky architecture that this palace is composed of. To get the best view and photos, I’d suggest viewing from across the street at the Wind Cafe for a great vantage point. If you go all the way to the roof, there’s a great view there too!

2. City Palace Doors

After the Hawa Mahal, the Jaipur City Palace doors are the most iconic photo spot in Jaipur. Painted with intricate designs and bold colors, and sparkling gold paint, be sure to prioritize seeing these beautiful doors during your visit to Jaipur. This is one of the top tourist attractions in Jaipur, so be sure to visit first thing in the morning when they open, and head straight to the doors in the back courtyard.

3. City Palace Terrace

Once you’ve viewed the doors and snapped ample pics there, head back towards where you entered, and enjoy the pink terrace and interior main courtyard of the City Palace. Again, it’s best to be here earlier, as this will fill with people later in the day.

4. Jawahar Circle Garden

An almost endless hallway that reaches into infinity with intricately painted archways full of boldly colored designs. Sound like a typical sight in Jaipur? I promise you that Jawahar Circle Garden is as unique as it gets and well worth the visit. As it’s located a bit further outside of town, Jawahar Circle Garden tends to attract significantly fewer tourists than many of these other Instagram spots in Jaipur. If you’ve read my Rajasthan itinerary, I recommend doing this first thing on your second day in Jaipur to make sure you have it to yourself.

5. Amer Fort

Fancy a fort visit? Amer Fort is a beautiful fort located 20 minutes outside of the core of Jaipur. The most beautiful spot to take photos here is just after the ticketing entrance, where you’ll find the stunningly painted main gates to the fort. While the fort itself is beautiful to explore and offers fantastic views over the town of Amer, I believe this entrance way is really the most beautiful photo spot here. Either go early in the morning, or just before close to get a photo without many people here.

6. Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan

This place is a beautiful hidden gem that you can explore at any time of day practically all by yourself. Filled with beautiful temples and shrines, it’s a fantastic place to explore while in Jaipur, and the lack of crowds, plus interesting scenery makes for great photos!

7. Cafe Palladio

While I don’t normally gravitate towards restaurants or cafes for photos, Cafe Palladio is really too unique to leave out here. Along with its sister restaurant located right next door (Bar Palladio), this restaurant has been well designed with bright pops of pink, green, and yellow, to make you feel like you stepped back in time and into an old European cafe with Jaipur design influence.

8. Jal Mahal

A floating palace – need I say more? While unfortunately, you can’t take a boat out to get closer to the Jal Mahal palace, you can still get a great view and photos from shore. Just make sure you have a good zoom lens 🙂

9. Nahargarh Fort

While I wasn’t able to make it here during my trip, I would recommend taking in the beautiful vista from Nahargarh Fort, especially at sunset. This is where you can find the classic spot of an arched fortress wall that many people perch on for great photos overlooking Jaipur!

10. Doors of Jaipur Backstreets

Finally, Jaipur is such a beautiful city that some of the best photos you will take can come from just wandering around the back streets of the city. Here you’ll see more authentic sites like street vendors, cows wandering along, and of course tons of beautiful old doors.

Well, there you have it, all the best Instagram spots in Jaipur! Do you have any favorites that I missed? Let me know in the comments! Make sure to save this post for later by pinning it on Pinterest below.
