Communitea Cafe

If you want a little more from your coffee shop than just coffee, Communitea Cafe will not disappoint. The first thing you’ll notice is the inviting atmosphere. With its friendly staff, bright yellow bar stools, and loads of natural light, you’ll immediately feel right at home.

Then, there’s the food. In the mornings, you can enjoy their breakfast spread, which includes everything from the vegan breakfast bowl to the huevo burrito. And if you stop by a little later in the day, you can enjoy dishes like the chipotle chicken avocado quesadilla, the Buddha bowl, or the gourmet grilled cheese.

And last but certainly not least, there are the drinks. As its name implies, Communitea Cafe actually has more tea options than coffee ones. Try the cream earl grey black tea, the divine temple green tea, or the masala chai rooibos tea. But if you’re a firm coffee drinker, through and through, don’t worry. You can still get a solid americano or cappuccino at this Canmore cafe.

JK Bakery Cafe

Let’s be honest. If you go to JK Bakery Cafe, there’s a good chance you’re going for the baked goods. After all, who can resist the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries wafting through the air? Try the delicious breakfast buns (with bacon, of course), the cinnamon buns, or the chocolate croissants.

And when you sit down to enjoy your baked good of choice at one of the sleek wooden tables, you’ll end up wanting a coffee drink to go with it. Luckily, JK Bakery Cafe can help on that front too! Get a cappuccino, an iced latte, a macchiato, or a chai latte.

The Best Breakfast Spots in Canmore

If you’re fueling up for an adventure-filled day, you’ll need to sit down and have a big breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day, after all. These breakfast spots are sure to serve up some of the best Canmore food to prepare you for your jam-packed itinerary.

Summit Cafe

Summit Cafe is arguably one of Canmore’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in a commercial plaza in a quiet neighborhood, Summit Cafe is a hidden gem!

This under-the-radar eatery serves breakfast all day until closing time at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy the spicy Mexi eggs, the only omelet, or the breakfast croissant. And if you’re a breakfast traditionalist, you can opt for the traditional, complete with two eggs any style, toast, and hash browns.

Don’t forget to add a drink to your meal as well! Cappuccinos, mochas, and chai teas are all up for grabs! And if your little ones are with you, they’ll be perfectly content with a warm cup of hot chocolate or apple cider.

Rocky Mountain Bagel Co.

Calling all bagel lovers! You definitely don’t want to miss out on Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. All of their bagels are baked fresh daily, so you know you’re getting the freshest ones in town. And with flavors like cinnamon raisin, jalapeno cheddar, and rosemary sea salt, you’re sure to find one that you like.

But this Canmore breakfast spot doesn’t just serve up bagels on their own. You can transform these bagels into sandwiches and open-face bagel pizzas too! Try the eggel, the three-cheese pizza bagel, the vegan delight, or the mountaineer.

To make things even better, Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. is situated right below our favorite hotel in Canmore. Talk about convenience!

The Best Lunch Spots in Canmore

When you spend so much time exploring, a mid-day meal can be just as important as breakfast. These incredible Canmore lunch spots are sure to satisfy your cravings.

The Iron Goat Pub & Grill

The Iron Goat Pub & Grill has a lot going for it. First of all, it boasts fabulous views of the Canadian Rockies. Second, it carries an envy-worthy collection of local draft beers. And last but certainly not least, it dishes out incredible food.

This Canmore food spot works hard to separate itself from the competition. So rather than dining on dishes that you’ve seen before, you can try plates like the chipotle mango duck wings, the ½ rack of baby back ribs with Saskatoon berry BBQ sauce, and the Okanagan pizza with pear, blue cheese, and balsamic vinegar.

Crazyweed

Crazyweed is another fantastic Canmore lunch joint. And we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed. This eatery has been packed since the day it opened its doors!

Much of the appeal of Crazyweed is the eclectic menu. There are dishes from all around the world – from the American pickle brine fried chicken to the Singapore prawn curry to the Moroccan lamb sirloin. Your palette can travel the culinary world without leaving Canmore!

And the international fusion vibe doesn’t end with the appetizers and entrees. The desserts are on the same page! Try the apple pie egg rolls, the sticky date pudding, or the chocolate budino.

The Best Dinner Spots in Canmore

Many of the best Canmore food spots are dinner restaurants. After all, there’s typically a lot more variation when it comes to the last meal of the day. So whether you’re hoping for casual pizzas or trendy new Canadian food, the Canmore dinner food scene will have something for you!

Tavern 1883

Tavern 1883 is definitely one of the best Canmore food spots. As a matter of fact, it may be our favorite restaurant in the entire city!

You really can’t go wrong with anything you order at Tavern 1883. That said, we highly recommend the fried brussel sprouts and the sweet potato fries. They’re absolutely fantastic. Please order them. For us. We promise you won’t regret it.

Of course, your entire meal can’t just be brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes (sadly). But there’s so much more on Tavern 1883 menu that’s worth a try, including the tavern classic burger, the beer-battered fish & chips, and the baked truffle bacon mac & cheese.

BLAKE

With its open kitchen, black and white color scheme, and floor-to-ceiling windows, BLAKE boasts a modern, sleek look. Add the great service and picture-perfect views of the Canadian Rockies to the mix, and the atmosphere is absolutely top-notch.

In addition to service and atmosphere, the final two aspects of an awesome restaurant are the food and drinks – and BLAKE definitely delivers on both of those fronts.

The food menu at BLAKE is always changing based on the freshest seasonal ingredients. But regardless of when you visit, the dishes at BLAKE tend to have a modern Asian flair. Savor plates like Vietnamese beef carpaccio, miso habanero ribs, Korean fried chicken, or Indonesian mi goreng.

As for the drinks, BLAKE also functions as a brewhouse and distillery! Their two specialties are the Three Sisters Vodka and the Miner’s Choice Rum, but they have many more spirits up their sleeves. If you’d like to try one of BLAKE’s house-distilled spirits in a cocktail, choose between the blake umami Caesar, the blackberry catalyst, the botanist, or the filthy chai.

Red Rock Pizza

Sometimes all you want for dinner is a solid pizza, and Red Rock Pizza delivers. You can either create your own pizza or opt for one of their signature pies. If you opt for the second option, you’d be hard-pressed to choose a bad option. The wicked chicken pizza, mango tango pizza, and dewey pizza are all crowd favorites.

While you can certainly order takeout or have your pizza delivered, we would actually recommend dining in at Red Rock Pizza for two reasons. First, you’ll get to enjoy a large selection of local beer options, which pair perfectly with the tasty pizzas. And second, you can take in some stunning views of the Canadian Rockies!

And there you have it! The best Canmore food! From your morning cup of coffee to your dinner dish, these Canmore restaurants have loads of tasty bites for you to try!
